Whanau members, community workers and local musicians made for a great night when the marae hosted carol singing on the evening of December 6.
She outlined how the story came to be told at the launch at the transitional community centre on November 30 before Pauline Cotter officially launched the book.
AFS Intercultural Programmes New Zealand is seeking volunteer families to host High School students from Europe, Asia, Latin America and the USA. The students are expected to become part of the family, obey family rules and undertake their share of household chores. Description: Autism New Zealand’s Canterbury/West Coast Branch is running its popular Walk/Run 4 Autism Awareness, a non-competitive event for all ages. Participants have a choice of distances: 2.5km, 5km or 10km. The event will be run whatever the conditions, wet or fine. Following the walk/run there is an entertainments area to check out. Robyn Alderson is a non-profit, independent, community fitness instructor offering Yoga/Pilates pre-choreographed fitness classes in St Albans twice a week. The classes are held at Colleen Murray Dance studio at 520 Cranford Street from 6.30pm on Wednesdays and 8.30am on Saturdays. No experience is necessary. The casual fee is $10 per class.
