A couple of people associated with St Albans over the past few decades have been granted awards in the New Year’s Honours List: Maggy Tai Rakena and Jan Wright. Three pages of St Albans News focus on the current by-election in the Innes Ward (being held as a result of one of the successful candidates resigning). New planting has been recommended for St Albans Stream where it passes through Abberley Park to stabilise the riverbanks. At this stage it is just a recommendation with suggested trees and plantings drawn from a city council-hosted database of native plants suited to the ecosystem. All this and more.
