Edgeware shops evacuated due to earthquake damage

St Albans has lost more shopping opportunities at the Edgeware Village. The block of shops at the corner of Colombo St and Edgeware Rd  was evacuated today for at least a month or until further notice. The closed shops include a greengrocers, a KB’s bakery, the Edgeware Blues Lounge, the TAB and an United Video shop.  A sign at the video shop invited returns of DVD as usual and stated that they will re-open asap.  All shops were suddenly red-stickered after being open for business for the last 3 months since the February earthquake. The St Albans Pavilion and Pool which had scheduled their 2011 AGM at the Blues Lounge will be looking for a new venue.

The Fruit and Vegetable shop conducted an emergency sale of its stock today outside their premises on the carpark.
