TC3 Foundation spec’s are likely to add $100M to AMI’s total liability (tens of thousands more per dwelling).
Insurance is responsible for paying for both Structural Engineer and Geotech consultations with respect to foundation replacements and repairs in TC3 zones (there was some doubt about Geotech at one point – but so long as it is to inform foundation design then it is iInsurance responsibility and not EQC
As no TC code has been applied to the Red Zone they do not need to apply TC3 specifications to any costings of foundation repairs in the red zone. So they are not doing so, this includes for any Geotech or Structural Engineer consultation to do with meeting these spec’s.
