87-91 Peterborough Street
The new library will provide a flavour of the Central Library in Gloucester Street but on a smaller scale, with a mix of new stock and material on loan to customers at the time of the February earthquake. The library collection of approximately 70,000 items includes books for all ages, a great range of new magazines, world language material, CDs, DVDs, talking books and newspapers.
Our popular family history resources and microfilm newspapers will be available for the first time since the February earthquake. The Ngā Pounamu Māori and the Ngāi Tahu Collections have also been re-housed and will feature prominently in the new library.
We are looking forward to welcoming old and new customers to Central Library Peterborough and are delighted to be able to open the doors in time for Christmas and the holiday season.
The library will be open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, and 10am to 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
