A community bus trip, which starts off from Packe Street Park and wends its way through community gardens on the east side of Christchurch, is one of the highlights of the inaugural Spring River Festival planned for the weekend of October 20 and 21.
The bus, which holds 50 people, departs from Packe Street Park (125 Packe Street) and visits gardens at Fitzgerald Avenue, Delta Trust, Smith Street, New Brighton, before finishing at Wainoni where Christine Dann will talk about vegetable gardening. Reservations are required for this tour and a small charge is made to cover provided refreshments including a mini breakfast and lunch. The bus returns to St Albans around 4.30pm.
