Dora, the computer training bus, operated by the Computers in Homes scheme, is going to be parked at the transitional community centre at 1047 Colombo St around Thursday lunchtime as part of a promotional tour around the city.
The bus and its laptops will be at the centre from 12 till 2pm on Thursday 18 October and a cup of tea or coffee can be had. The transitional community centre will be open at the same time – it has coffee making facilities.
The digital bus with satellite internet access is an initiative of the Computers in Homes scheme.
Neighbour Net ran a successful community computer room at The St Albans Community Centre for 13 years until the wall fell out in September 2010.
