A resident from an address holding a party in Flockton Street was stabbed early on Saturday morning.
The man was stabbed near his eye and the knife was left embedded to be removed later in hospital. The decision not to remove the knife at the scene, made by a police officer with medical training, probably saved the man’s eyesight and his life. The alleged assailant has been arrested.
