Habitat for Humanity is nearly finished repairing the quake-damaged Jeffries family home in St Albans.
The family had stopped paying insurance so they could pay for improved insulation when they were caught by the February 22 earthquake and faced $80,000 worth of repairs with no financial assistance forthcoming. The family have been living off an invalid’s benefit (Dennis has MS).

Habitat for Humanity is mainly known for building new houses for people in need but since the earthquakes has assisted more than 40 families rebuild damaged houses.
