If you are planning a spring fling in your neighbourhood after the brouhaha of the local elections has died down, the city council has a small subsidy available through the local community board for your street party. As long as it it is part of Neighbourhood Week that runs from October 25 to November 3 it has a good chance of success. For more information, application details and ideas on how to celebrate the week and get to know your neighbours, visit: www.ccc.govt.nz/neighbourhoodweek. Applications are open now and close on August 23.
