Author Kate de Goldi who grew up in St Albans, shows viewers around St Albans on TV1 at 11am on November 10 as part of the Neighbourhood series.
The show features a traditional Portuguese celebration, a Dutch choir, bagpipes and New Zealand’s first hutanese radio show.
Kate grew up in St Albans and went to the local Catholic Primary School, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour.
The food focus is a Portuguese meal – Arroz de Marisco – made by Susana Rodrigues, her family and friends.
The show will eventually end up on CTV, which is showing the series on Thursdays at 7pm. The show aims to show the ethnic diversity of New Zealand suburbs.
