Got a land settlement cheque from EQC but you are unsure how the calculation was made and if it is correct or not?
Bank the cheque and then Kevin Seque, Managing Director of KSL Audit Services Ltd suggest you send the following email or letter to protect your position:

To whom it may concern
We acknowledge receipt of the payment received in relation to a land claim from the earthquake claim(s) previously lodged with EQC.
Please be aware that the banking of these funds is not an acknowledgement of “full and final” settlement. We wish to formally advise that we are reserving our position and seeking independent professional advice on this matter.
