Earthquake information group CanCERN and Southern Response (insurance company handling many Christchurch claims) are launching a pilot initiative soon called Breakthrough to help settle some sticky cases.
The scheme, currently in the planning stages, aims to to help homeowners talk to Southern Response about their experiences and progress to date, clearly explain sticking points and explore pragmatic solutions for progress.
It does not include advocacy for specific claims outcomes nor does it give policy, legal, or technical advice. Those things are covered by Canterbury Insurance Assistance Service, Residential Advisory Service and the Earthquake Support Coordinator Service.
Registrations of interest will be taken from residents some time in October. For further information keep an eye on www.cancern.org.nz
