Location: Beulah Church, Springfield Road
Time: January 20, 7-8.30pm
Description: EQC is hosting another community meeting to explain how it determined qualification for properties previously identified as potentially having increased liquefaction vulnerability (ILV) land damage. Most of those affected have already received their qualification packs and EQC reports a relatively low level of interest shown in attending the meetings so far and has scaled back on planned meetings during January. The 90-minute meeting features presentations by EQC representatives and EQC’s engineers, Tonkin + Taylor, followed by a Q and A session (but not about individual claims). It is the first time in the world this type of land damage has been recognised as insured damage. Meetings are also being held at Beulah Church on December 4 at 10am and 9 at 1pm. Those who can’t make the meetings can email info@eqc.govt.nz or phone 0800 326 243 to get an answer to their query, or ask for a face-to-face meeting with EQC staff. For further information visit www.eqc.govt.nz/ILV.
