Christchurch trees seek saviours

Many of Christchurch’s notable trees are about to be dropped off the Christchurch City Council’s register and this has spurred some city residents into opposing this.

Around 80 per cent of the city’s notable and heritage trees will lose their protected status and could be cut down without consent. This includes a number of St Albans trees.

The organisers campaigning to protect the trees need money for expert and legal representation in order for its voice to be heard at the Independent Hearing Panel.
