Longtime owners of Kidds Cakes, and for the last decade the cafe, Martin and Jann Meehan finally get to retire to Banks Peninsula after many decades owning. News that a temporary barrier designed to stop traffic right turning into Rutland St from Westminster St (for safety reasons) has not worked and will be replaced by a permanent one (pending funding being made available) should come as no surprise. Impatient drivers have smashed through the plastic barrier to avoid a trip around the block. All this and more in the September issue.
