TEDxEQChCh salon event
Time to come together.
It’s been a shaky night in Christchurch, on top of a shaky few weeks, on top of a shaky few months. More than eight shaky months. Nerves are frayed, tempers are short, supplies of optimism are dwindling, and now more than ever we need each other.
On Facebook and Twitter, we asked how TEDxEQChCh could best support the people of Canterbury right now, and whether you wanted us to run a casual TEDxEQChCh salon event. 100% of respondents said, “Yes!”
So that’s what we’re organising:
- A casual, TEDxEQChCh salon event
- No applications, no RSVPs
- No cost to attend
- 1-2 TED talks
- Cash bar and cash food
- Most importantly, a chance for the TEDxEQChCh community to come together when we most need each other.
We are seeking a venue for this event — as you might imagine, they’re in short supply — and will let you know as soon as we have something sorted.
Tree-planting.
At TEDxChCh last October, we committed to planting 600 trees — and tree-planting season waits for no earthquake. Weather permitting, we’re holding a tree-planting event this Saturday, 25 June, from 1-3pm.
We can only accommodate 40 volunteers; please click here to register if you will be joining us.
We fully appreciate if, thanks to the joys of liquefaction, you’ve had your fill of shovels. If you have already registered to attend and will not be able to make it, please just reply to this email to let us know.
Thank you for your strength and for your contribution to this community. We are proud to be a part of it.
