Leading global and local thinkers will take to the stage of the Aurora Centre for the Performing Arts on Saturday, September 1 for a day of inspiration as part of TEDxEQChCh 2012.
Rebuilding after the earthquakes is a key theme with architects and green experts among the key speakers. Presenters are still being finalized at the moment and the organizers are open to nominations.
This is the second TEDx event for Christchurch. Official TED events are held in various centers and informal locally organized ones known as TEDx are run in other places. Christchurch is the only TEDx event called TEDxEQ and we cling to hope that it remains that way (no big quakes anywhere else). In between local presentations the audience is treated to recorded sessions from previous TED and TEDx events, making sure that the good ideas get spread around.
Sign up on the TEDXEQChCh website now if you want to attend as there is a limit to the numbers the Aurora Centre can hold. The form is a bit inquisitorial but the day is worth it. If you can’t make it on the day, or miss out on a seat, the event will be videoed live. It was last year.
