A BBQ has been organised on Thursday morning from 10.30am, courtesy of the St Albans Residents Association, to welcome the new Lions-owned building to the site of the now demolished St Albans Community Centre at 1047 Colombo Street.
The building is expected to remain on the site for three to five years before being moved elsewhere and will act as a temporary (but reduced) community facility until such time as a permanent replacement is built for the council-owned property.
The BBQ will be provided thanks to SARA’s brand new trailer. This will be its second outing. Community groups and street parties can hire the trailer and use it for fundraising.
