Changes on horizon for Purchas St

Plans are afoot to reconstruct Purchas Street between Geraldine Street and Manchester Street. Changes planned include new grass verges, tree landscaping and kerbing.

Because the planned reconstruction of that part of the street includes additional work on the streetscape residents have been consulted. The 15 responses received inform the project drawn up, and this will be presented at the September 5 meeting of the Shirley/Papanui Community Board, requesting approval for construction.

The report will be included on the Community Board agenda, which will be available on http:www.ccc.govt.nz/Council/Agendas/ three working days prior to the scheduled meeting.

If the community board approves the plan, work will start on 10 September 2012.

See the plan for Purchas Street here. It is on the second page of the linked pdf document.
