Ideas for Avon red zone

In its online Zone Life feature, The Press has asked readers to submit their ideas of what should happen to red zone lands around the Avon River.

River advocacy group AvON would like to see the river turned into a river park and reserve. If you agree with them (or if you have other ideas) write 30 words or less on the topic, keep the idea in people’s minds and submit here.

Organisers of the AvON network don’t think the battle for this land is won. “We have made very good progress with our petition, we are making good headway in our dealings with CERA. But nothing is certain and there are still many roadblocks in the way. This land could still be used for other purposes, our desire to nurture a healthy river and surrounding habitat could still be lost.”
