Rents rise 10 per cent in St Albans

Rents for St Albans houses have risen 10 per cent in the past year according to figures from the Business, Innovation and Employment Ministry quoted on the TVNZ website.

The median rent for a three-bedroom house rose by 10% in this area and it was even stronger in Kaiapoi and Rangiora at 14 per cent.

It is thought that a shortage of liveable housing post quakes is largely responsible for the rise.
