Time: 12:00pm-1pm on February 5.
Location: Aoraki Room at Community and Public Health (310 Manchester Street)
Description: What a waste all the residential red zone demolition is. Communities and organisations could be making use of all those materials being trucked to the dump or sold offshore.
CanCERN, with the help of Arrow International and CERA, have worked out a way to save and obtain materials from residential red zone demolitions that are otherwise destined for the landfill and give them back to community groups and organizations who can make use of these items. The plan will be outlined in a lunchtime meeting in early February.
Groups will need to prove they have a project or worthy recipient at the time the request is made and the item will be obtained and made safely accessible in a short term storage facility. Pretty much anything is possible as long as it is easy to get at – need a new kitchen, new door, windows to turn into a funky greenhouse?
RSVP by 5pm on Tuesday 29th January 2013 to Lee Tuki. Spaces are limited to 50 attendees.
Please bring your lunch. Coffee and tea available.
