Rehua Marae plans kitchen upgrade

Rehua Marae in Springfield Road plans to upgrade its kitchen and has applied to the Christchurch City Council for assistance to do so.

The Marae Trust is applying to the Shirley Papanui Community Board and the Fendalton Wigram Community Board for funding through the council’s Capital Endowment Fund -Special One Off Project Scheme.

Rehua Marae was built more than 50 years ago to provide a base for the Maori Trade Training Scheme but now has a wider involvement with the community hosting events.
