Use EQC land cash settlement wisely

If you receive a cash settlement for land damage make sure you use it to remediate the land as EQC has the power to cancel cover if you don’t and it could affect future insurance with private providers.

EQC can withhold cover until work is done or decline to pay a claim. Notices can be issued (section 28) that are attached to the certificate of title. They can cancel EQC cover if not satisfied with the reinstatement.

No mention was made of any time requirements for the work to be carried out.
