Culturally diverse St Albans to feature in TV doco

An Auckland-based media company wants to feature cultural diversity in St Albans as part of a television series and will be visiting the area in a few weeks time looking for interesting immigrants with tales to tell.

Neighbourhood is a celebration of cultural diversity in New Zealand. Each episode explores a different region, to find out what people from other parts of the world are getting up to in that area. If you are not familiar with the series, episodes of Neighbourhood are available to view on demand at tvnz.co.nz/neighbourhood. You can also visit check out facebook.com/NeighbourhoodNZ.

Researchers are looking for people who come from another part of the world and currently living in St Albans who:

  • is now doing something creative e.g. Art, music, poetry, acting writing etc
  • taking part in a local community initiative.
  • could make a special delicacy from their homeland on screen. It could symbolise an important ceremony/ritual, what the food/dish means to them, why it is important etc

    OR

  • has an important artifact or affectionate object from their homeland that has an interesting story

If you know individuals who fit the bill please contact Ann Ciciani, a researcher at Satellite Media
