St Albans Community Preschool to celebrate return

St Albans Community Preschool has moved back into its repaired building on the corner of Thames and Westminister Street and is holding a gathering at 9am on April 13 to celebrate.

Following the February 2011 earthquake, the Preschool operated initially out of Glenmoor School and more recently at the Shirley Rugby League Clubrooms on Briggs Rd. ” We were welcomed with open arms and are very thankful in particular to all those involved in the Shirley Rugby League Club and the Shirley/Mairehau/St Albans Communities for their on-going support,” Operations Manager Carol Gillies says.

The Pre-school, which offers the 20 ECE hours, has enrolments available for the 2013 year and welcomes any enquiries or visits. Open hours are 8.00am – 3.45pm, Monday to Friday.

“We pride ourselves on providing a positive, welcoming and stimulating play based programme of learning for our children. Our teachers have recently completed the ‘Incredible Years’ training programme which underpins the interactions we have and the behaviour management strategies we use with our children on a daily basis.”

The small community preschool has been providing an early childhood education service to the St Albans community and beyond for over 20 years.
