Recycle old TVs for $5

Do you still have an old TV sitting at home because you now have a digital TV or associated digital device that enables you to see digital TV? Get rid of the old one by recycling through the Ministry for the Environment’s TV Takeback programme.

It will cost you $5 for each TV but is cheaper than transporting it to the dump or recycling centre.

So far 50,000 sets have been collected across the South Island. The subsidy is about to run out and charges to recycle old TVs will become more expensive to cover the full recycling costs.

Find your nearest drop-off point at www.tvtakeback.govt.nz or by calling 0800 499 700.
