Ultrafast broadband will be available in parts of St Albans over the next year.
Enable, the company laying ultrafast broadband cable, has indicated that “Edge ware” alongside Shirley and Richmond will benefit from the new cable.
Enable is the cable layer. Costs and speeds will depend on the internet service provider and the number of users in the area but the speeds are several times faster than the average now available. Internet-based television, video on demand and online gaming could benefit from these faster speeds.
Innercity Christchurch already has fibre available and Halswell is one of the suburbs where the cable has already been laid. Schools and businesses are also being targeted.
