Business students build positive community organisations

Business students at the University of Canterbury are part of a pilot project to help build positive community organisations.

Second-year business students taking the paper Management 208 – Principles of Leadership are learning a range of skills that have been shown to promote personal wellbeing. Through the course the students have the opportunity to share their learning with community groups.

Students will meet with community groups to discuss what learning would be most useful. Based on these findings, the students will develop a short workshop to share hot tips for promoting positivity and wellbeing, with opportunities to critique and/or practice the skills. A poster will summarise key learning.
The initial consultation will take place between 22nd July – Aug 5th 2013 and workshops will be presented between August 2nd-14th.
