Date: September 14. Christchurch showings are at 4pm and 7.30 pm
Description: A home movie made at 10 Berry Street in 1910 is one of a number of historical Canterbury films being shown during a Film Archive Tour. The oldest home movie in the Film Archive collection shows the Hinge family enjoying time together in their home and garden. Other historic films from throughout Canterbury (Mt Cook and Bill Hamilton’ jet boat) make up the Reel Tour. Screenings are being organised in seven Historic Places Trust registered heritage buildings. Local historians will introduce each screening and live accompaniment to the silent films will be provided by musicians Jan Preston and Mike Pullman. Door sales only, $5 per seat. The programme of 17 short movies runs for 75 minutes.
