Kidds Cakes adds cafe

If you want a coffee with your cake, Kidds Cakes and Bakery have a cafe in their new building which opened on January 15.

The new two-storey building, adjacent to the old building, is built back from the road to take into account the proposed four-laning of Cranford Street. It is also very eco-friendly in its use of water and handling of waste.

The downstairs area includes a 50 seat cafe, cake decorating and retail area, while the baking is done upstairs.

Kidds Cakes began in a residential garage in Severn Street in 1986, moving to the former Cranford Street Post Office a year later. The purpose-built structure has been on the drawing board for 10 years.
