CanCERN, which is the organisation behind the Find and Fix campaign, reports in its latest newsletter that 600 households have responded.
This follows door knocking by Red Cross volunteers on 5000 doors and the availability of an 0800 number. There are strict criteria for the project and not all responders will be handled by Find and Fix. Some are being referred on to EQ support services instead.
CanCERN has estimated that around 900 houses in Christchurch need urgent repairs, but the number could end up being less or more than that.
