Instead of a fireworks event on November 5 this year, The Neighbourhood Trust, which operates out of the St Albans Baptist Church in McFaddens Road, is organising an early evening Light Party as an alternative to Halloween on Wednesday, October 31.
Neighbourhood Services Co-ordinator Kim Button described the Light Party is a healthy, safe, child friendly, fun alternative to Halloween and the usual trick or treating. Local schools and pre-schools have been approached to get behind this event and encourage their families to be involved.
“It will be a great night with a full on party atmosphere with bouncy castles, face painting, mini jeeps, a ZEBRA merry go round, Oki – Do – Key the Clown, a magic show, sausage sizzle and café culminating in a massive black light Disco. Feel free to dress up on the night, in full ‘NON-SCARY’ fancy dress.”
The event begins at 5.30pm and concludes at 8.30pm.
