K2 legal highs to be banned

The Government has announced that K2 synthetic products will be banned from sale in dairies from May 9.

A Temporary Class Drug Notice is being issued making it illegal to import, manufacture, sell or supply the substances, with a maximum penalty of eight years in jail. The Psychoactive Substances Bill won’t become law until August when it will ban the sale of psychoactive substances unless tested and approved by a regulator.

This decision comes within a week of a holdup of the Edgeware dairy, in which the shopkeeper was violently held up and the K2 legal high was demanded.

It was not the first dairy to be held up for K2, but we hope it proves to be the last one.
