Community Board Meeting
The next meeting of the Shirley-Papanui Community Board will be on September 19 at 4pm. Meetings are held at the Papanui Service Centre and are open to the public.
Lions Den opening on Wednesday
Known affectionately and locally as the Lions Den, the more correctly titled transitional St Albans Community Centre will be opened on Wednesday by Lions International Foundation Chairman Wing-Kun Tam and Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker.
Changes on horizon for Purchas St
Plans are afoot to reconstruct Purchas Street between Geraldine Street and Manchester Street. Changes planned include new grass verges, tree landscaping and kerbing.
St Albans Conversation followup
CCC staff will be reporting back on Thursday, August 9 with a summary of the discussion about the future of St Albans held in April.

BBQ to welcome Lions building
A BBQ has been organised on Thursday morning from 10.30am, courtesy of the St Albans Residents Association, to welcome the new Lions-owned building to the site of the now demolished St Albans Community Centre at 1047 Colombo Street.
