Changes to the land in Canterbury

Location: In the Know Land Hub, Beulah Church, Springfield Road
Time: October 7 from 6pm
Description: The Canterbury earthquakes changed the urban and natural landscapes of Christchurch and the surrounding region. Dr Mark Quigley will discuss fault rupture, subsidence, rockfall, flood hazard and liquefaction. Future seismicity and climate change will also be considered.

Centre under community management soon

Negotiations have been taking place between CCC and the St Albans Residents’ Association and it looks like SARA will be back managing the community centre from October 6. It will take a while to get things up and running but we hope to see the return of the St Albans NeighbourNet computer room after a four year hiatus, among other features.

Harrisons of Francis Street

Does anyone remember the Harrisons of Francis Street -they used to have an orchard in the area in the early 20th century – and were also well known for the numbers of children in the family. Movies on the Marae
