Asbestos in houses
EQC will only remove asbestos from Christchurch homes where the claddings have actually been damaged by the quakes. Any other asbestos-removal is the responsibility of the homeowner.

Cross lease properties and EQC
People living in flats without a body corporate are being encouraged to talk to neighbours about earthquake damage so EQC and insurance companies can get an overall picture. If your property is what is called ‘crosslease’ this involves you.
